Purchasing beveled glass windows is an easy way to make your home more attractive. For the people that find plain windows boring, adding beveled glass windows really accents your windows.
In this thread we will discuss the options and why beveled glass is more energy efficient than window grids. |

Hello
I know there is always "google" , But since I found this forum that is all about windows I might as well ask here.
What exactly is a beveled window?...Yes, I probably am the only one on the planet that doesn't know this but where I am from most and I mean most of the houses are 100+ years old, so I never heard that phrase before.
I also would be interested in hearing all the pro's and cons as well.
Sorry for all the questions,...but that is how you learn right? |

Taken from http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-a-beveled-window.htm
A beveled window is a window which is made with glass that has been beveled, or given an angled edge which creates a prism. Since the prism changes the way light refracts as it passes through the windows, it creates a rainbow of colors and splits light into unusual patterns. Beveled windows are installed to add more dynamic lighting to a room. Many people install beveled windows on their doors to make their entryways more colorful and inviting.

Those look like they would be a good alternative to stained glass windows.
WindowExpert, how does the price compare between beveled glass windows and stained glass windows? |

Beveled glass is a very small investment compared to stain glass. |

Really?? It seems like it would be as much work to make the beveled glass as it would stained glass.
Does it keep out the peeping neighbors? |

No, I have only installed a few pieces of fancy glass that didn't have pieces that you could see through. If the glass is used in a room that requires privacy it can become a concern after the install. |
