I think I heard somewhere that if you purchase an energy efficient item, that it can be used as a tax write off. Has anybody else heard that or have a source?

I could be dreaming it up Very Happy

Some gas companies will give you a $10 per window rebate, check www.energystar.gov .

http://www.energystar.gov/index.cfm?c=products.pr_tax_credits#s2 this link has some details about the "tax write off".

It's great that energy efficient products can save us money on our heating and cooling bills and the rebates are an added bonus!

Energy star...that is it. I know that we got a tax write off for doing additional insulation in our attic.

Good information since tax time is coming up soon!

That's pretty nice to know! I won't be able to get a tax brake for my 2007 return, but perhaps next year when I file.
