| Is there any rule that a certain type of home has to have certain types of grids? We are looking at replacing our windows but we are really stuck on the options. The white grids look like they will cut up our view to much. We like some of the grids that go along the edges so they spruce up the windows without blocking our view. |

| Another question, what are they made of? I was at my aunt's house for Thanksgiving and she had some in her patio door that were plastic. They were bowing and sagging, they looked horrible! If we are going to spend the money I want something that will look good in 20 years. |

If you are going to stay in your home for a while buy the options that will make you happy. If you are looking to resell your home in a few years you should stay with the style that matches your home. For example, diamond shaped grills on a colonial when every house in the neighborhood has the 6/6 style. |

Generally the cheap ones are made of plastic while the longer laster ones are made of aluminum. I have seen most of the plastic ones fail after a few years. It really upsets people when they begin to sag and the only option is buying new windows. |

Here is a nice site that has window grills made of wood or aluminum. You can design your own grill right online.
Pretty neat for the crafty person.
