We have a bay window in our kitchen that may need replacing. Is there any special things that we need to be aware of when pricing these?

Take some time to explore the options before you have a salesperson out for the measure.

Do you want casement windows or double hung windows on the sides?

Do you want white hardware or a colored option?

Do you want fancy glass (beveled/stained) or just the standard package?

Do you recommend a hardware store such as Lowes or Home Depot for gathering information and seeing options?

No, not at all. Both stores sell on price over value. All of the best rated windows come from window companies. All of the best warranties also come from window companies, they service what they sell. I would suggest visiting window showrooms in order to get a feel for the products and then contacting a couple local window companies.

Thank you for the good advice. I will search in the yellow pages and find a showroom where I can see the options available.
