Dual pane glass is "rated" by:
1. The space between the panes (wider is generally better).
2. The spacer that holds the two panes in place, metal spacers are not that great.
3. The gas between the panes, since dual panes windows only come with air or Argon gas, Argon is the way to go! |

| Does the dual pane help reduce outside noise? I live somewhat close to a major road and I hear a lot of traffic noise at night. |

Most of my clients comment on how their new windows reduce the outside noise. A few window companies are selling windows that are rated for sound reduction. |

This is all new to me, I never knew that companies are making windows to reduce outside noise. I bet they cost a pretty penny though. |
