Hi Everyone,
I'm new to the forums and I have a pretty basic question. We're in the market for replacement windows and I'm curious to how long the wood window frames last and if they will rot with age?
Thank you very much, |

| They should last a while if you take good care of them although no windows will last forever. Have you thought about going with another material such as Vinyl? They are pretty much maintenance free! |

So would you prefer wood or vinyl window frames? I'm reading a lot of good things about the two. Like the wood frames are much thicker than vinyl. But vinyl is much easier to clean and will last longer. |

I've always like Vinyl over wood frames, but that's just my .02. Others may or may not feel differently. |

| I just picked my windows/window company. I ended going with wood frames. I think they look a little nicer than vinyl. I know that vinyl is easy to clean, but I just fell in love with the ones our contractor showed us! |

You sound a lot like me, I always choose wood over vinyl. Anyhow, to answer your question they should last forever if you take care of them properly. |

| We installed some wood frames in our home a few years back and we enjoy them everyday. They still look just as good as when we first installed all of them. Highly recommended from me. |
