I need to soundproof my walls!! Anyone have any ideas??

But I am looking for a way to do it without paying too much, needs to be cheap. I live in a shared house and the people next to me are just a wooden wall away. It's not them who are noisy, it's me! They keep telling me to keep it down , but well I tried to explain that I just come home from work really late most nights and it is out of my hands. But they keep on banging on the wall with each time I come home late. Any movement in my room drives them nuts. What can I do?

I attended a class a few years ago so my info might be dated but:

Look into the sound rated sheetrock, you can order it from any sheetrock (drywall) supplier.

If you have some extra $$$ look into the rolls of vinyl (?), it's about 1/4 thick and very heavy it has great sound reduction ratings.
