Hello all. After putting months of work into all the other problems in my new house, I have discovered my old vinyl sliders are leaking. I am replacing 11 sliders, with 2 of them being three lite and the other 8 being two lite. I have received estimates for the following windows: Polaris Ultraweld, Pella Thermastar, Alside (Window World Comfortworld), and Champion.
I initially decided to purchase the Champion Windows, however, after signing the contract, I developed buyers remorse over the high price (over $6k) and cancelled my order. They eventually came down to $5,684, but that was still more than I was looking to pay. Now my second choice is the Window World Comfortworld (Alside). Their price is $4,519, however, if my paint tests positive for lead it will be an additional $550, for a total of $5,069. So now I have to decide... Do I go for the Alside windows? Are the Champions better and worth the extra $600 - $1,100? Or should I go back to square one and look at other brands? This process has taken weeks already and with current water damage, I don't wanna wait much longer. I want a quality window with a good warranty, but simply do not have the money to throw around. Any help is appreciated. |
